February's topic: Helping Employers Build a Resilient Organization: Creating productivity through safe, stable, and supportive environments.
Research shows working individuals spend a great amount of time on the job and the time we spend at work can impact the quality of our lives. Employers can influence the quality of employee’s lives for the better by promoting resilience in their organizations. This can be accomplished by creating safe, stable, and supportive environments in which their employees work. Increasing EAPs awareness on the importance for employers to build a resilient organization can help promote better productivity and self-care.
1). Gain an understanding of what is a resilient organization
2). Explore how organizations can realize and recognize the importance of building a resilient organization
3.) Identify ways for organizations to respond to toxic work environments and enhance resilience.
Speaker: Jeana Stevenson, EdD, LPC-MHSP-S, NCC is the Director of Clinical Services at Monroe Harding, Inc. and currently serves as the Vice-President of the Middle Tennessee Chapter of EAPA. Dr. Stevenson also serves as a member on the Community Advisory Board of the Lloyd C. Elam Mental Health Center and is an adjunct professor at Belmont University. As a licensed mental health professional, she has 15 years of experience in mental health and substance use treatment. Dr. Stevenson received her BA in Psychology and MS in Educational Psychology from the University of Memphis, in Memphis, TN. She earned her Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from the College of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences at Argosy University.
